Dorsale Del Triangolo Lariano
The Dorsal Larian Triangle is a path that crosses the whole territory and we reccomend following it from Brunate to Bellagio.
It is one of the most beautiful trails in the area: a beautiful nature trail, with breathtaking views of the lakes of Brianza, Lake Como and the surrounding area.
The route can be done in a single day in about 9-10 hours of walk with an average step, or divided into 2-3 stages and is identified with marker number 1 or “DORSAL”.
Stage 1: Brunate – Bocchetta di Lemna

How to get there:
By car: from Como reach the village of Brunate finding parking in via Alessandro Volta near the funicular.
By funicular: leave your car in the Viale Geno area and use the historic Como funicular that takes you in just 15 minutes to the center of Brunate.
At Brunate start the route following the signs for San Maurizio and Santa Rita at C.A.O. (pedestrian path). Once in San Maurizio we recommend visiting the Tempio Voltiano, a work built in 1927 to commemorate the physicist Alessandro Volta.
Proceed to take the large uphill mule track that leads to the side of the small Church of Santa Rita, continue left, in front of the refuge C.A.O.
The path leads into a forest, reaching first Baita Carla and then Baita Bondella and Baita Boletto Fabrizi, from which you can enjoy a stunning view of the Maritime Alps and the pond of Montorfano.
After Baita Boletto, you can reach the top of Monte Boletto following the signs for the “Dorsal to Cresta”, or continue on the path to the left for the “Dorsal” to reach the Bocchetta di Molina.
At Bocchetta di Molina there are several roads: turning immediately to the right you can take the paths to Solzago and Albese with Cassano, on the left you reach loc. Molina in Faggeto Lario, while a little further on the path divides.
Stage 2: Bocchetta di Lemna – Colma di Sormano.

By car: from Como you can reach Lemna in Faggeto Lario
By bus: use line C31 to reach Lemna
From the Bocchetta di Lemna the Dorsal Lariano Triangle continues flat, following the signs for Monte Palanzone.
The 360 º panoramic view will allow you to see both the branches of Lake Como and Lecco, the chain of the Alps, the mountains of the Lariano Triangle, in addition to the lakes of Brianza and the plain.
On top of the mountain you will also find the characteristic stone monument.
From Rifugio Riella continue in the direction of Sormano on a flat stretch and once in Bocchetta di Caglio turn right following the crest downhill until you reach the Colma di Sormano.
Stage 3: Colma di Sormano – Bellagio

At Colma di Sormano the astronomical observatory is definitely worth a visit.
To continue on the route take the path behind the Observatory following the signs for Monte S. Primo – Dorsal or Dorsal crest.
Monte S. Primo is the highest point of the Lariano Triangle, from which you can enjoy the fascinating landscape.
Always following the signs for “Dorsale”, you can reach the small and charming village of S. Giovanni just two kilometers from the center of Bellagio, from which you can use public transport to return to Como.
It is also possible to take the boats.
