The Greenway of Lake Como is a naturalistic and cultural trail of 10km along the village of Colonno, Sala Comacina, Ossuccio, Lenno, Mezzegra, Tremezzo and Griante.
The signs of the Greenway are well marked and allow you to walk either the entire walk (about 3 hours and a half) or the 5 individual stages.
First stage: COLONNO – SALA COMACINA
In this first stretch you will enter via Cappella up to the historical center of Colonno; once past the square, cross the bridge over the Pessetta stream, join the old Queen route with terrace plots and beautiful olive groves and reach Sala Comacina arriving at the chapel of San Rocco.
Second stage: SALA COMACINA – OSSUCCIO
In this section you can continue on the old Queen route with a stunning view of the Comacina Island. You will enter the town of Ossuccio and admire the Church of S. Giacomo, the sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso, the bell tower of S.M. Maddalena.
Third stage: OSSUCCIO – LENNO
Passing the bridge you will enter Campo di Lenno and you will find Villa Monastero, reaching the Hotel Lavedo. From here, you can decide to deviate to the majestic Villa Balbianello or continue the Greenway to Lido di Lenno: you can see the square, the church of St. Stephen, the Baptistery of St. John and the Imbarcadero.
Fourth stage: LENNO – TREMEZZO
From the pier you will climb into the small Mezzegra and then descend to the town of Tremezzo. Along the way you will find the churches of S. Giuseppe and S. Abbondio, and a beautiful view of the Bellagio promontory. You will pass the historic Palazzo Brentano to Bonzanico and get to Bolvedro by crossing the state road.
Fifth stage: TREMEZZO – GRIANTE
The final stretch of the Greenway is totally on the long lake: from here you can see the villas La Quiete and Mayer and you will pass by the Imbarcadero di Tremezzo. From the historic center we recommend a visit to the majestic Villa Carlotta and four steps to the beach. Here the Greenway ends, but you can always walk up to the wonderful Menaggio.
If you have not yet experienced the excitement of taking this extraordinary walk along the lake, we strongly recommend that you put on a pair of comfortable shoes and wait for the first sunny day!

Departure Colonno – before entering the village, on the left, a sign of the Greenway indicates to go on a steep slope. Here you can park your car and start the walk.
You can decide to start it from any country in the middle of the track, you will not have to find directions to the Greenway.
