Sentiero del Viandante is a hiking path of about 40 km, which runs along the eastern shore of Lake Como.
The walk begins in Abbadia Lariana and crosses different town (Mandello del Lario, Varenna, Bellano, Dervio, Colico) to get to Piantedo.
You can travel in various stages easily: indeed, do not require special equipment, but a simple hiking gear. It is not demanding, except for two climbs that allow you to reach beautiful balconies that open onto the natural view of the lake. Spring and autumn are the ideal seasons for this walk without having to suffer too much heat or cold. Although in winter, on sunny days, with the mild climate of the lake, you can enjoy pleasant moments. Walking along the path, marked with orange-colored plaques, is a continuous pleasure for the eyes: the beauty of the landscapes, the geology of the rocks and the particularity of the botanical species, vines and olive groves and testimonies of faith with chapels, rural altars, kiosks.
